Prime (PR-In-My-Eyes) Time is written by communications consultant Donna White.
This is where my passion for ‘old-meets-new’ media comes alive. I’ll be commenting on how companies are using digital media to revive and refresh their position in the marketplace. From industry trends and hot campaigns to missed media opportunities and brand handling, I’ll discuss what’s really happening.
After spending three years at Kingston University learning how to find news stories on campus and around London, whilst securing a variety of high-profile work placements, I turned my back on reporting to start my career in PR. I joined Kinded in 2008 to work on a range of B2B and B2C campaigns including DBIS’ Science [So what? So everything], ConstructionSkills and the Chartered Management Institute – regularly securing national and consumer coverage for my clients.
After two years, I moved to William Murray Communications, the leading food, drink and hospitality agency. Working on the single biggest client within the agency – Unilever Food Solutions – I now raise the profile of their leading products: PG tips, Knorr, Flora, Hellmann’s and Colman’s within the national, consumer and trade press.
In December 2013 I moved to the Prince’s Trust to work as a PR Officer, looking after the South of England. This year, I’ve moved into the digital team and am currently a Digital Marketing Manager.
My specific interest is watching brands get to grips with social media to engage with their customers directly.
